Le Soir and Spring Cleaning

Went to a french restaurant named Le Soir in Bayport, NY for Restaurant Week. It is a very quaint restaurant that would be great for a romantic date. The restaurant has dim lighting, great service, and wonderful food. I was very pleased that we (FC and I) were seated quickly, and that the waitress provided bread with butter while we waited for our food. Furthermore, the staff would refill my water when I was running low, which made me more appreciative of the overall experience. I only wish I was able to try other items on their menu, but the restaurant was only serving items on the restaurant week menu.

Dolphins :'(

I do not believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, but I used to believe that dolphins were magical, gentle, water creatures. FC informed me otherwise telling me that they're very horny, vicious animals. After reading this article, I learned that dolphins are violent, and coercive mammals that participate in gang rape, and the infanticide of baby porpoises. This is very upsetting and disturbing news :'( I will never view dolphins quite the same.

Tumblr

I tried Tumblr. It's not for me.

Move to Blogger, Hunger Games, & New Bikini

Nixtamal Restaurant StorefrontI have decided to use Blogger for my hosted blogging service. The decision is based on the simplicity and ease of maintenance for the time being. In addition, I do not have my own webhosting space and believe that WordPress would require more time to relearn and manage. In the future, I will consider purchasing webhosting space and installing a content management system (CMS). For now, Blogger will enable me to update more frequently.

Had lunch at Nixtamal, a small Mexican restaurant in Corona, NY with FC. We found out about the restaurant through Guy Fieri's Dives, Diners, and Drive-Ins on the Food Network. The guacamole was really fresh, and the steak was delicious. I enjoyed the fact that they had bottled drinks in glass, which is something I don't see that often.
Hunger Games Poster

Hunger Games was as good as I expected it to be. After watching the movie, I found myself interested in reading the books or if all else fails, then at least watching the sequel.

Atlantic City, NJ

On our way to Atlantic City, NJ we (FC & I) stopped at Shut Up and EAT! a diner in Tom's River, NJ. I believe we found out about this restaurant from Lonely Planet's travel guide.
FC ordered french toast with powdered sugar, Nutella, and strawberries. I ordered a hearty sandwich that had bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese.  We both enjoyed our food, but were slightly disappointed when we realized that their "french fries" looked more like diced potatoes mixed with onions. Finally, tater tots are always a delight ;D

Upon arrival to Atlantic City, our first stop was the Absecon Lighthouse. This lighthouse is New Jersey's tallest lighthouse and the country's third tallest lighthouse. It is also 150 years old and open for climbing with 228 steps.

The next pictures show Revel, Atlantic City's newest casino/resort. It is a very beautiful building with amazing views. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of their rooms had themes and chairs to sit in. It will be interesting to see how Revel compares to Borgata in the future, especially when it's in full swing.

View From Revel

Stayed at the Taj Mahal and for $72 I was grateful that our bedroom featured a comfortable bed, exciting views, and a decent sized bathroom.
